Edgar Miranda has always been energized by cutting-edge innovation. From building mobile apps that reached hundreds of thousands of users to developing AI-powered platforms that transform how teams work, his career is driven by a passion for solving problems that haven't been solved before. Now, as an instructor for Circuit Stream's Product Management Bootcamp, he brings together his technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and big-company product experience to guide the next generation of product leaders through the rapidly evolving world of technology.

Meet Edgar Miranda

Edgar is a seasoned product management expert and our newest Product Management Bootcamp instructor, with experience spanning Amazon, Indeed, Automation Anywhere, and his own entrepreneurial ventures. His career showcases the versatility of great product managers—from analyzing data at Amazon's Adaptive Fashion storefront to developing internal tools at Indeed that streamlined engineering workflows.

"I've always been drawn to working with cutting-edge technology, and I find it incredibly exciting to be in a field where innovation happens at such a rapid pace."

Beyond his corporate roles, Edgar co-founded Miranda Bros., a mobile games company that achieved over 300,000 paid downloads and $400,000 in annual revenue. He's also worked as a consultant with Ernst & Young and led the mobile app rebuild at Automation Anywhere. With a Computer Science degree from San Jose State University, Edgar combines technical expertise with real-world product management experience across multiple industries.

Edgar's Teaching Philosophy: Real-World Learning Through Interaction

Edgar believes that students learn best through variety and engagement. His teaching philosophy centers on presenting clear, accessible information while fostering interaction and creating a space where questions are encouraged.

"I see my role as a facilitator who sparks curiosity and creates an environment where students feel comfortable exploring, making mistakes, and thinking critically."

His approach combines several key elements:

Real-World Context: Edgar focuses on using real-world examples, drawing from products and case studies that are relevant and well-known across the industry. This helps students grasp new concepts more easily by anchoring material in familiar, practical contexts.

Active Learning: He employs active learning methods by encouraging group discussion and simulating real-world product management scenarios. This allows students to apply their knowledge collaboratively and learn through hands-on experience.

Multimedia Engagement: To keep sessions dynamic and engaging, Edgar incorporates videos and interactive diagrams. These tools ensure content remains exciting and accessible for different learning styles, supporting a well-rounded educational experience.

Edgar stays current with industry trends by browsing Product Hunt, reading Stratechery for in-depth tech analysis, and following TechCrunch for startup news. He also follows thought leaders like Peter Yang on LinkedIn for insights on AI and product management.

Current Focus: AI-Powered Product Innovation

Currently, Edgar is helping build a platform that empowers individuals and teams to seamlessly align their goals and efforts, harnessing AI to intelligently synthesize updates and monitor progress with greater clarity and efficiency across organizations.

"My favourite part of this role is the constant opportunity to explore and apply new AI advancements to create solutions that haven't existed before, driving meaningful impact and shaping the future of how we work."

With the emergence of AI, Edgar sees unprecedented opportunities to accomplish more with fewer resources and continually raise the bar for what's possible in product development.

Beyond Product Management: Exploring Life's Adventures

Outside of work, Edgar maintains an active lifestyle that reflects his curiosity and love for new experiences. He enjoys exploring the outdoors, attending live music events, and trying out new delicious food—pursuits that keep him energized and inspired.

Edgar's Advice for Aspiring Product Managers

Edgar's key piece of advice for students is both simple and profound: "Focus on solving user problems, not just shipping features. It's easy to get caught up in execution, but great product managers stay grounded in what users truly need. Let the problem guide the solution."
